Cameroonian sax icon Manu Dibango’s 1982 LP Waka Juju is being reissued via Soul Makossa this winter.
Originally released on CRC Records, Waka Juju mixes influences from afrobeat, highlife and jazz-funk across 6 tracks. After receiving world attention with the release of influential track “Soul Makossa” in 1972, globe-trotting musician Manu Dibango incorporated electronic elements into his sound, with synths played by Wally Badarou.
Waka Juju will be limited to 500 copies and is due to be released in December 2019.
